On the Move

John & I will be on the move again on Monday September 3, 2007. We will be heading up to NY again to Lake George. We will spend 2 weeks there and then head towards home, ...FL.

The trip to NJ & NY has been great. We managed to see many friends & family members. Two family reunions for John. Marge got to meet some new family members. An interesting family member from Garnerville is an astrologer. She speaks on radio shows, local http://www.rocklandworldradio.com/ & sirius radio. She also has written a few books and articles for magazines. A very interesting woman. Her name is Judi Thomases. So as we are in that elite group I am going to share it with my friends & family and here it is:

RV'ing As a Sagittarius Expression

The U.S. has a Sag rising (Sibley Chart), and in keeping with that, is going mobile, taking to its wheels as a call to freedom and independence. 80-year -old single women are tooling around in motor homes, seeing the U.S. of A while hooking up with "boyfriends"here and there! (What could be more self-governing?!!) Friendships are forming and spreading, as are cultural influences. But best of all, besides the "call of the wild", RV'ers have satellite TV and Internet, wireless Internet and cell phone Internet and cell phones. Talk about "not leaving home without it" here we're taking the whole home and all its gizmo's with us! In fact, there's something called Geeks on Tour, a roving band of techies who service the RV community. Americans will always keep their identity and freedom so long as they can hit the open road, now with all their ingenious toys and luxury on board.

While visiting with Judi, I got my own star reading. My happy dates are Nov. 11 to Nov. 26. I will soon find out. I got to do my favorite thing which is line dancing. I met some very nice people. I will definitely dance with them again when I am in the area. When we get into a new area or just before we get there, I check online with my world line dance news letter to see where & when I can dance:

This year I danced in Point Pleasant, New Jersey with a group called happy dancing feet. In NY I danced at the Latin Vibe dance studio with Renatte and her girls. Renatte joined the Point Pleasant group last week and taught Show me wot u got. A very fast dance. In PA I went to the Winners Circle near Hershey PA and Low Places in Lancaster. I met up with some friends from Fl & we went dancing together in PA. I am hoping that I run into some of my new dancing buddies along the road.

John & I have gone to so many BBQ's, I thought I was going to bust. We enjoyed them all. The food was great. Great company too.

It really meant alot to both of us to see so many friends & family on this trip. Well hope to see them all soon and in good health.

Vanderbilt Mansion

While visiting with friends & family in NY, we did manage to do some sight seeing. We went to the Vanderbilt Mansion and I couldn't take any pictures inside due to flash. I tried taking some pictures without the flash but it was way to dark inside. They keep it dark to preserve the furnishing. This is a National Historic Site. Roosevelt bought it for $1.00 for the National Park System. It is the only private residence in the park system.

We also toured West Point. It has a great deal of security now, since 9/11.

This is Roosevelts car. The car has special equipment so he was able to drive without the use of his legs. He once took the Queen mom for a ride & she was quoted as saying the scariest thing she ever did was take a ride with Roosevelt. At the age of 39, he contracted polio. From then on he was never able to walk alone unaided. He got the virus from a boyscout outing in Bear Mt. At the time no one really knew about polio. Roosevelt led a sheltered life & wasn't exposed to the elements of Bear Mt.

Roosevelt started the National Park System. He was the only president elected to the presidency 4 times. He died in the beginning of his fourth term.

"The only limit to our realization of tomorrow will be our doubts of today. Let us move forward with strong and active faith."

This article was in the Journal news. Rockland County. It was pretty exciting. We were right in the midst of all this. So many reporters, ambulance, helicopters and of course the police. 2-state chase ends in arrests

One man was shot in the arm and another taken into custody by police July 27, 2007 at the end of a wild chase that began in Paterson, N.J., and crossed two major bridges and six counties.


Rockland, the men were charged with first-degree attempted murder, assault with intent to cause physical harm to a police officer and first-degree reckless endangerment, all felonies.


"There's going to be other charges in other jurisdictions as well," Dietrich said, adding that the men would be charged by all New York agencies first before being charged in New Jersey.


The attempted-murder charge was deemed necessary by the Rockland County District Attorney's Office after interviews with the officers involved. "I can't get into exactly why because it's under investigation," Dietrich said.


The Greenburgh Police Department is looking into its role in the chase. Shots were fired from the pickup as it raced along Interstate 287 through town. Police there would not say yesterday how many shots were fired nor where they were fired.


"It's an active investigation, and there's no comment at this time," Sgt. Chris McNerney said.


Police said Friday that shots were not returned by police during the chase.


Bill Maer, spokesman for the Passaic County Sheriff's Department, said that once the men are handed over, they will probably face charges of attempted murder, eluding police and assault, and various narcotics charges and traffic violations. That department's attempted-murder charge would stem from an assault on a woman shortly before the chase began. The woman had connections to the men, Maer said.


While other vehicles were heavily damaged, Dietrich said the Clarkstown department's cars came out of the chase relatively unscathed.


"They all got dings in them or undercarriage stuff," he said. "It was a high-speed chase and it went over some rough terrain."

July 2007

The month is almost over & we will be heading to NY for a few weeks. Time to visit more family members. We have been visiting many members of our families & friends. It's been a good visit for both of us. It's been a good visit so far with everyone. It is so great to see everyone that we don't get to see to often. We've missed all of our friends & family.

He's Back!!!

Well Donny came home safe & sound from overseas. Everyone missed him dearly. I want to thank all my friends (especially Dianne) that supported him & sent him letters, that meant so much to him.

The Keys

Key West John & I went to the keys in January. The weather was beautiful. We enjoyed our time in Key West. Friends of ours were staying in the same park & we went to Key West together, touring, eating & shopping.

I am very proud of my son serving his country. Scared but proud. He will be overseas for 7 months to a year. I am praying for his safe return. His children are missing him already.
