Visiting With Good Friends In NY

Woodstock NY

We took a trip back in time to the 60's. Remember the Woodstock concert. Three days of music. August 15, 16 & 17, 1969. 500,000 people gathered on the lawn of Max Yasgur's farm with traffic jams of up to 20 miles long. Just imagine that. There was lots of rain, not enough food, plenty of drugs and lack of bathroom facilities. The music of the decades. Man I wish I was there then. John and his friends were planning on going when he heard Arlo Guthrie on the radio say "the NY thruway is closed man". We spoke to a man from Texas that was at Woodstock & he told us the thruway was never shut down. This man came to Woodstock & never left. He was sitting there with pictures of the historic concert & the new museum. Now they do have outdoor concerts there every year. Behind this monument was the Woodstock concert. The bowl was where the bands played & the hill was filled with the fans. We went to a Harvest fest on the Woodstock grounds. The band reminded me of the Janis Joplin or Gracie Slick times in the 60's. It was a beautiful day, a little crisp in the shade. Treble Keyboard

We had a wonderful weekend with our friends Chuckie & Barb and our RV buddies, Ruth & Bucky. Again it is all about the food.
