Summer 2010 RV Trip

   Visiting with Family & Friends

We started our trip by staying in Little Talbot Island in Jacksonville Florida. Donny came up with his children for the day. The beach is awesome.

   

Our next stop was in South Carolina. We stayed there for a few days. We went to Russell Stovers. That was the big excitement there.

Next on to Virginia. Our microwave/convection oven went on the fritz there. John fixed it with ease. He did some research on the internet & found out the damper motor on this model goes and when it does the microwave/convection oven with only work in 59 second intervals. Well it cost $24 to fix it himself & if we brought it in, the cost would have started at $140. We got ourselves a deal there.

I finally met my new friend Faye in VA. I have known her through a good friend Suzanne. We kept in touch through email but never met. Well now we are friends. Faye introduced me to several people in the campground. She also taught me how to play pickle ball. It is such a fun game, but it didn’t play well with my body. My knee has been hurting me ever since. I thought it was getting better but right this moment, I can hardly walk.

We finally reached New Jersey. It is so hard visiting with family & friends here as we are so far away. The campground is about 1 hour from John’s family & an hour & a half from my friends

& family. I am enjoying the visits but the ride is killing me. My cousin Tee has a shore house. She is right on the lagoon. We stopped by to visit with her & her husband. It was a really good visit. Of course no Jersey trip is complete until we see the Gang.

 

 

Now it’s time to do something with my hair. And who would I turn to but Lynn. No one is Florida does hair like she does. Lynn has been doing my hair on & off for 38 years.  

I was in luck. They had the last union meeting before summer break. I stopped by to see some of my co-workers & friends. There was a BBQ. Lunch & a meeting along with visits. LaJoyce & I were such good friends at one time. I haven’t seen her in years. Good to see her again. Gloria & me. Back in the day we ran in the corporate sports battle together. Looking good Gloria. Retirement has been good.   My cousin Joey, LaJoyce & me.

A really good BBQ. Ribs, corn on the cob, burgers, dogs, salads & chicken. It was a good day visiting with some good friends & co-workers.

Next I was off to see Donny. He & the kids drove up from Florida. I stopped by my younger son’s house to see them. I only stayed for a short visit. Then off to see the girls. We walked on the beach & then off for a lobster dinner with a spectacular view of the ocean.   After dinner I ran off to be with the Jersey Girls in Pt. Pleasant. Wow what a busy day.
